The Philippines’ agricultural sector saw a 1.2% growth in 2023, driven by robust increases in poultry (up 3.5%), livestock (up 2.2%), and a record rice harvest of 20 million metric tons. This sector contributed 9.1% to the GDP and employed 25% of the workforce. Government initiatives included a PHP 117 billion budget for the Department of Agriculture.
